A split second can
change everything
One-fifth of knife crimes in the UK are committed by people under 17. Young people start carrying knives because they are afraid of being a victim. They are scared and provoked into carrying knives and joining gangs for their own safety. They feel like they have no other choice. But there is a thin line between being the victim and becoming the attacker. It takes a split second for life to change. Introducing Unslashed, a campaign that explores what it means to walk away. The campaign draws parallels between a life in knife crimes versus a life beyond knife crimes. Stories are powerful, so we collaborate with individuals who’ve dared to walk away from a life of knife crimes to explore their hopes and dreams.
